Arkansas women’s basketball announced on Apr. 16 the addition of former Louisiana Tech guard Jianna Morris as its second transfer signing.

Morris, who is originally from Sherwood, Arkansas, was a Conference USA second team selection last season. She averaged 11.2 points and 2.4 rebounds per game and led the Lady Techsters with 81 three-pointers made. Morris will have one year of eligibility remaining with the Razorbacks.

During her junior season at Louisiana Tech in 2025-26, Morris started all 33 games and played over 1,100 minutes, ranking sixth for most minutes in a single season in program history and second among juniors. She made a three-pointer in every regular-season game and was one of only three players nationally to do so while averaging at least 2.7 made threes per game. Over her college career, she scored in double figures more than twenty times each season and achieved career highs such as five three-pointers in a single game multiple times.

In high school at Sylvan Hills under Coach Shelley Davis, Morris was a four-time All-Conference and All-State player who became the program’s all-time leading scorer. She averaged over twenty points per game during both her junior and senior years, earned several camp invitations including John Lucan Top 160 Camp and John Wooten Top 150 Camp, was named an Arkansas Female Athlete of the Week, nominated as a McDonald’s All-American nominee, named Most Outstanding Player at the Arkansas All-Star Game, participated in AAU basketball with Bounce Nation out of Memphis for Coach Mark Hearns, lettered in softball for three seasons, joined National Honor Society membership ranks and graduated as top-ranked student from her class.

Morris is the daughter of Darryl and Phyllis Morris; she has two siblings—Corey Armstrong and Nikia Thompson—and graduated from Sylvan Hills High School in 2023.
