Arkansas State Police announced on April 16 they are searching for Edward Lampkin Jr., 36, in connection with a homicide that took place Tuesday in Wynne.

Authorities said the Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division began investigating after a fatal shooting was reported to the Wynne Police Department. The incident occurred at about 11:50 a.m. on April 14 at the intersection of C Street and Fitzhugh Circle, where officers responded to multiple emergency calls regarding gunfire.

Upon arrival, police found Javon Beal, 34, of Wynne, suffering from gunshot wounds. Beal was taken to a local hospital but did not survive his injuries. His body has been sent to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory for further examination to determine the official manner and cause of death.

The Arkansas State Police have asked anyone with information about Lampkin’s location to call (870) 970-6072. Authorities said additional details will be provided as they become available.
