The Arkansas State Highway Commission announced on April 5 that it intends to create License Plate Reader Rules, opening a public comment period that will run through May 14.

According to the announcement, all interested parties are encouraged to provide comments on issues related to the proposed rules. The commission said that copies of the proposed rules can be accessed online or by contacting Gill Rogers at the Arkansas Department of Transportation.

Written comments may be submitted via email or regular mail to Gill Rogers at ARDOT. Comments received after May 14 may not be considered, according to the commission.

A public hearing regarding the proposed rules is scheduled for 9 a.m. on Wednesday, May 13, at the Arkansas Department of Transportation Central Office Auditorium in Little Rock.

More information and access to the proposed rules are available in the organization’s press release.
