The Arkansas Scholarship Lottery (ASL) collaborated with Lotto.com, an online lottery platform, to raise funds for the Arkansas Hunger Relief Alliance’s (AHRA) fourth annual College Hunger Summit. All proceeds from LOTTO tickets purchased on October 29 through Lotto.com were donated to AHRA, a nonprofit focused on reducing food insecurity in the state.

“We were honored to support the Arkansas Hunger Relief Alliance through our promotion with Lotto.com,” said ASL Executive Director Sharon Strong. “According to a recent study by Honors Arkansas, an estimated 41% of Arkansas college students have been unable to focus in class due to limited food intake. This partnership with Lotto.com expands our commitment to higher education through our efforts to combat college hunger and provide additional support to student success.”

Representatives from ASL and Lotto.com presented a $5,000 check from the ticket sale proceeds at the summit, which took place on October 30 at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Attendees included Sylvia Blain, AHRA chief executive officer; Jennifer Owens Buie, AHRA director of development; Sharon Strong, ASL executive director; and Kweku Sapara-Grant, Lotto.com director of external affairs.

“We’re proud to partner with the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery to support the Arkansas Hunger Relief Alliance and the vital work they do to combat food insecurity across the state,” said Kweku Sapara-Grant, Director of External Affairs of Lotto.com. “Since our Arkansas launch in 2023, every ticket ordered on our platform has contributed to ASL’s initiatives that benefit local communities. This partnership is another meaningful way we can give back to the people of Arkansas while helping drive incremental state funding through responsible, digital lottery participation.”

LOTTO is an exclusive draw game for Arkansas residents launched in 2022. Drawings are held twice weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 9 p.m., with tickets costing $2 per play and sales closing one minute before each drawing. The current jackpot stands at $305,000.

Since its inception in 2009, ASL has sold over $8 billion in tickets and provided more than $1.5 billion for scholarships benefiting students across Arkansas. Over 822,000 scholarships have been awarded by the Arkansas Department of Higher Education using these funds.
