The Arkansas Department of Agriculture has issued a reminder to pesticide applicators and agricultural producers about the restrictions on the use of dicamba products for the 2025 growing season. The department emphasizes that from April 16 through October 31, pesticides labeled for agricultural use containing dicamba are prohibited for pre-plant (burndown) applications in Arkansas.
Currently, no pesticides with dicamba have valid federal or state registration for over-the-top (OTT) application on dicamba-tolerant soybeans and cotton. Consequently, farmers are not permitted to apply OTT dicamba on these crops in 2025.
Failure to comply with federal or state laws and rules may result in civil penalties up to $25,000 per violation. Additionally, there is a risk of suspension or revocation of the applicator’s license. Detailed rules are available on the department’s website.
Complaints regarding suspected pesticide misuse can be filed online or by contacting the department at (501) 225-1598.
