The Arkansas Razorbacks announced on April 16 that the opening game of their softball series against the Oklahoma Sooners has been moved to a 5:30 p.m. start time on Friday, April 17, due to forecasted weather conditions.

The schedule change is intended to ensure player safety and minimize disruptions caused by expected inclement weather. The game will be streamed live on SEC Network+ following the new schedule.

According to the announcement, Saturday’s first pitch between Arkansas and Oklahoma is set for 7 p.m., while Sunday’s game will begin at 1 p.m. Both weekend contests are also scheduled for broadcast on SEC Network+.

The Razorbacks currently hold a record of 35-6 overall and are 10-5 in Southeastern Conference play. They recently secured a series win against Mississippi State, bouncing back from an initial loss with two strong victories by scores of 8-0 (in five innings) and 10-3. This season, Arkansas has outscored its opponents by a combined total of 353-101.

Oklahoma enters the week ranked as the consensus No.1 team nationally with a season record of 40-5 and a conference mark of 13-2 in SEC play. The Sooners most recently experienced a setback with a loss to Oklahoma State at Devon Park in Oklahoma City.
