Arkansas lost to Georgia, 26-14, in a high-scoring baseball game on April 18 at Baum-Walker Stadium. The defeat marked the Razorbacks’ first home weekend series loss to the Bulldogs since 2008, ending a streak of four consecutive home series wins against Georgia.

The matchup turned into an offensive contest with both teams combining for 40 runs on 35 hits, along with 18 walks and six errors. Arkansas managed to score 14 runs on a season-high-tying 14 hits and drew 12 walks. Georgia responded with an even stronger showing at the plate, recording 26 runs on 21 hits and taking advantage of six Arkansas errors.

Arkansas started strong, leading by five after two innings thanks in part to Camden Kozeal’s two-run homer. However, Georgia answered back quickly with six runs in the third inning and continued adding to their lead throughout the game. Ryder Helfrick tied things up for Arkansas with his team-leading thirteenth home run of the season but it was not enough as Georgia scored eleven more times in the ninth inning.

Four Razorbacks had multi-hit games during the contest. Carter Rutenbar went three-for-three and scored four times while Kuhio Aloy added three hits as well. Damian Ruiz contributed four runs batted in (RBIs), Kozeal drove in three RBIs along with Helfrick and Maika Niu also knocked in three RBIs.

Looking ahead, Arkansas will conclude its homestand against Missouri State on Tuesday, April 21 at Baum-Walker Stadium. The game is set for a first pitch at 6 p.m., broadcast on SEC Network+.
