Arkansas Department of Transportation highlights road safety ahead of holiday weekend

The Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) participated in a “Slow Down, Move Over” press event today. The event was organized by AAA and the Arkansas Highway Safety Office. Ellen Coulter, ARDOT’s Media Communications Manager, discussed the department’s “Slow Down, Phone Down” campaign focused on work zone safety and highlighted the risks faced by road workers.

Captain Brad Lann from the Arkansas State Police provided information about the state’s Move Over laws. Additionally, a tow operator from East End Towing shared his personal experience of being hit while working.

As the holiday weekend approaches, this serves as an important reminder for drivers to prioritize safety and responsibility on the roads.
