Arkansas will begin the second half of its Southeastern Conference baseball schedule by hosting Georgia in a three-game series at Baum-Walker Stadium, starting Thursday, April 16. The Razorbacks, ranked No. 16 with a record of 25-13 (8-7 SEC), will face the No. 5 Bulldogs, who hold a 30-8 overall record and are 11-4 in conference play.
The matchup is significant as Arkansas looks to continue its streak of strong performances in SEC play and maintain its history of success against Georgia at home. The Razorbacks have not lost a home series to the Bulldogs since 2008 and have won four consecutive weekend series against them in Fayetteville.
Game one is scheduled for Thursday at 7 p.m. on ESPNU with Tom Hart and Lance Cormier providing commentary. Friday’s game will be streamed on SEC Network+ beginning at 6 p.m., while Saturday’s finale starts at 1 p.m., also on SEC Network+. Fans can listen locally on the Razorback Sports Network from Learfield or through the Razorback app.
On the mound, Arkansas’ Hunter Dietz is set to start Thursday’s opener after overcoming injuries earlier in his collegiate career. Dietz currently has a season record of 3-2 with a 3.61 earned run average and leads the Southeastern Conference with 78 strikeouts over nine starts this year. He has delivered five quality starts so far this season and three double-digit strikeout games, tying him for eighth most such performances by an Arkansas pitcher in a single season.
Under head coach Dave Van Horn since 2003, Arkansas holds an overall record of 25-22 against Georgia during his tenure, including a strong showing at home (14-7). As they enter this crucial stretch of league play, Arkansas must secure ten wins out of their final fifteen conference games to reach eighteen victories—a mark they have achieved for eight consecutive seasons.
