The Arkansas Department of Agriculture has announced the recipients of the 2025 Farmers Market Promotion Program grants. This marks the 10th year of the program, which is administered by the department and sponsored by Farm Credit. The initiative aims to support local farmers markets amid increasing demand for locally sourced products.

Governor Sanders expressed commitment to making nutritious foods accessible across Arkansas, highlighting the importance of local farmers markets in achieving this goal. “With this funding, farmers markets across Arkansas will be able to attract more customers, boost their visibility, and make Arkansas healthier – all while supporting the farm families who are the backbone of our state,” said Sanders.

Secretary Wes Ward acknowledged Farm Credit’s partnership in addressing food insecurity and providing outlets for agricultural producers statewide.

In 2025, over $10,500 in grants were distributed to various markets throughout Arkansas, including those in Berryville, Fort Smith, Marion, Fayetteville, Little Rock, Nashville, Melbourne, Jonesboro, Lockesburg, Batesville, Greenwood, Perryville, Marshall, Sheridan, Cherokee Village, Springdale, North Little Rock, Greenbrier and Vilonia.

The grant funds will support promotional activities such as signage and marketing campaigns to enhance awareness of each market. All recipients are part of the Arkansas Grown and Arkansas Made programs. Markets interested in future funding should apply when applications open in late spring or early summer. Funds are awarded on a first-come-first-served basis until depleted.
