Juan Carlos Contreras-Najarro has been sentenced to four years in federal prison for possessing firearms as an illegal alien and convicted felon in Little Rock. Authorities say he was found with drugs and stolen property during a traffic stop.
Senator John Boozman announced new legislative efforts aimed at improving Arkansas’s water infrastructure. The initiatives include updating national laws through WRDA, introducing technology-focused bills for local utilities, and encouraging cooperation among government levels.
Out of the $12.7 billion in total tax revenue collected by Arkansas in 2024, $972.5 million came from corporation net income taxes, representing a decrease from the previous year, when the total was $1.1 billion, according to the U.S. Census Bureau’s Annual Survey of State Government Tax Collections (STC).
