The Kansas Department of Agriculture recently hosted a trade delegation from Argentina, known as Club Agtech, to explore the state’s beef industry. The visit took place in mid-August and involved interactions with producers, processors, and academic experts. The goal was to understand the U.S. beef sector better and consider potential collaborations between Argentina and Kansas.

During their visit, the Argentine team toured Mushrush Ranch near Strong City. Here, they learned about advanced cattle breeding programs and innovative technologies like virtual fencing systems for managing livestock. Another stop was Rezac Land and Livestock in Onaga, where they observed a family farming operation utilizing modern technology. At Meatworks of Kansas in Riley, the delegation saw beef processing techniques and value-added product development.

The group also engaged with faculty members from Kansas State University. Discussions covered topics such as U.S. beef production advancements through the Institute for Digital Agriculture and Advanced Analytics (ID3A), along with future prospects for digitalization and precision livestock management. These discussions emphasized how technology and data are integral to creating a more efficient and sustainable beef industry.

Supporting agriculture in all its forms is central to the mission of the Kansas Department of Agriculture, which includes facilitating opportunities for producers to market livestock genetics both domestically and internationally.
