Little Rock Trojans baseball team lost to Louisiana Tech 9-3 on April 14, despite a strong performance by Angel Cano at J.C. Love Field at Pat Patterson Park.

The game was notable for Cano’s offensive effort, as he went 3-for-4 with two home runs and two runs batted in. His performance accounted for much of Little Rock’s scoring against the Louisiana Tech pitching staff.

Although the final score favored Louisiana Tech, Little Rock managed nine hits and kept up offensively for much of the night. The Trojans responded after falling behind early, with Cano hitting his first home run in the second inning. He added another solo home run in the sixth inning to keep Little Rock within reach.

Other contributors included Jerdy Lopez, who had two hits, and Cade Martin, who drove in a run with a sacrifice fly in the eighth inning. The bullpen also played a role, with Brayden Walls and Josh Beezley holding Louisiana Tech scoreless through the middle innings.

Louisiana Tech built an early lead and added four runs in the sixth inning to secure their win. Despite this setback, Little Rock continued to compete throughout the game against their Conference USA opponent.

Looking ahead, Little Rock will return home for a three-game series against Ohio Valley Conference co-leader Eastern Illinois starting Friday at Gary Hogan Field.
