The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) is set to host a healthcare-focused luncheon in Texarkana on April 26. The event will feature a presentation from Amanda Austin, NFIB’s director of federal public policy. Austin, who has extensive experience in Washington’s healthcare reform discussions, will update NFIB members and small-business owners on the latest developments regarding the Affordable Care Act (ACA).

During the luncheon, Austin will discuss the implications of the ACA for small businesses. Topics will include provisions already in effect, the components known as the “three-legged stool” (comprising the Individual Mandate Tax, Individual Subsidies, and the Employer Mandate), new insurance policies and marketplaces, and the impact of sequestration on Medicaid and Medicare reimbursements.

The event is scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the CHRISTUS St. Michael Health System in Texarkana, Texas. The cost to attend is $10, with payment options available in advance or at the door. For further information or to register, Linette Delgadillo can be contacted at linnette.delgadillo@NFIB.org or 512-476-9847.

This luncheon is a collaborative effort between NFIB and the ARK-LA-TEX Health Network.
